Castlebar Chamber Celebrates the Success of Inaugural Accelerate Business Event
Castlebar Chamber is proud to announce the resounding success of its inaugural Accelerate event, which took place on Wednesday, 3rd September at Breaffy House Resort. The evening brought together more than 400 business leaders, entrepreneurs, and professionals from across Mayo and beyond, marking a major milestone for the Chamber as it continues to grow in strength and scale.
Headlined by broadcaster and entrepreneur Ivan Yates, economist Jim Power, and award-winning businesswoman Oonagh O’Hagan, the event delivered an inspiring mix of insights, debate, and practical strategies. Guests also heard from industry and civic leaders including John O’Shea (Meissner), Dr. Orla Flynn (ATU), Noel Brett (Revenue Commissioners), along with contributions from David Mellett (Castlebar Municipal District) and Minister of State Alan Dillon.
Hosted by Ivan Yates, the evening featured keynote talks, fireside chats, and panel discussions covering entrepreneurship, economic trends, leadership, and innovation. The high calibre of speakers and the energy in the room reflected the appetite for connection and collaboration among the region’s business community.
Anne Conlon, President of Castlebar Chamber, said: “Accelerate was about more than just inspiration – it was about action, ambition, and strengthening our business community. The feedback from the night has been phenomenal, and it’s clear that Mayo businesses are eager to step up, collaborate, and grow together. The Chamber itself has grown significantly over the past two years and now stands as one of the largest regional Chambers in Ireland, and this event is a testament to that momentum.”
With Accelerate now firmly established as a flagship event, Castlebar Chamber is looking forward to building on this success and continuing to provide leadership, opportunity, and a strong voice for the business community across the region.
