Castlebar has a strong mix of Small, Medium Size (SMEs), Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) companies and State Employment.
The town draws in employees in all sectors from at least a 20km radius. The spin-off is felt is the surrounding smaller towns in the county and demonstrates that the town is a key influencer in the region. The Chamber of Commerce is the representative body for business. The local LEO office is a huge support to start-up and existing businesses and a key enabler for innovation and incubation of start-ups is the iHUB at the GMIT Campus. Enterprise Ireland (EI) and the Industrial Development Authority (IDA) provide excellent support and guidance to their constituent enterprises in the town and will guide you in the choices you wish to make for your business.
